We are delighted to announce that the wonderful Soili Perkiö will be coming from Helsinki to lead a two-day course in Dublin in early years music education this April.

This workshop is suitable for all music educators with some experience in working musically with young children, as specialists or generalists; and for musicians who work in education or community settings with children in early years. The content is relevant to the Irish Arts Curriculum.

Soili Perkiö studied music education, piano and voice at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, and advanced studies in dance and music education at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg in the Carl Orff Institute. Since 1995 Soili has been a lecturer in the Department of Music Education, Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. Soili was a member of the Nordic Sounds Project which aims to gather traditional music and show creative ways for teachers to use music, song and dance in their practice.
