Creative Approaches to Using Instruments in the Primary Music Classroom

Venue: Little Ealing Primary School, Weymouth Avenue  London W5 4EA

This is a one-day workshop for all those who teach music to whole classes and groups in primary schools

We will explore ways to use classroom percussion and other instruments to support inclusive and practical music learning. The day will include a session with a group of children to show some of the activities and processes in action.

Through the creative use of movement, speech and rhythm we will show you how children can develop their skills in composing, improvising and performing.

We will include traditional tuned percussion instruments and various handheld percussion, as well as everyday materials, ukuleles, and a full Samba kit.
