Sarah Hennessy

Sarah Hennessy worked for 10 years as a secondary school music teacher in England before becoming a music advisory teacher supporting generalist and specialist primary teachers in developing music in the curriculum – especially focused on whole class inclusive and creative approaches. She then worked at the University of Exeter (1990-2105) as a teacher educator on both specialist and generalist primary courses. She was also involved in Masters and Doctoral
teaching.

Over many years she has learned from a wide range of Orff teachers through attending Orff Society summer schools and workshops and puts her learning into practice through providing initial and continuing training for primary music teachers. She has given talks and led workshops on the Orff Approach at conferences, training institutions and CPD events in the UK, Malta, Germany, Italy and Greece.

She has written extensively on creative approaches to music teaching and also works as a researcher and evaluator.
