Join Catalan music educator Xavi Rocamora for a practical, hands-on exploration of the traditional songs, folk dances, rhythms and percussion of the Iberian Peninsula. Discover active, creative and Orff-inspired teaching processes suitable for percussion teachers, music specialists and educators working with ages 7–11 and older.
Xavi is a Catalan music educator and multi-instrumentalist specialising in Orff Schulwerk. His specialist training includes the San Francisco International Orff Course and the European Mentorship Programme, and he holds a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts Education from the University of Barcelona.
Xavi is the founder and educational coordinator of music education programmes in Catalonia. He currently teaches music and movement, recorder, percussion ensembles and choirs to learners of all ages at EMM Can Ponsic and Xamfrà. Through ARTransforma, he also coordinates inclusive creative projects bringing together people with and without disabilities.
Alongside his teaching, Xavi trains music educators in active and creative approaches across Spain and internationally. Since 2022, he has been a member of the teaching teams delivering certified Orff-Schulwerk training programmes in Finland with JaSeSoi and in Barcelona with Orff Catalunya.
