Doug Goodkin returns to London this October

Posted on: 05/10/2026

What does it mean to teach music in a way that develops not only musicianship, but the whole human being?

Drawing on decades of experience, Doug will explore an approach to music education rooted in play, creativity, connection and community. Through practical music-making, participants will experience ideas that can be taken directly back into their own classrooms and teaching.

Sunday 18 October — Jazz for All Ages

On Sunday, Doug turns his attention to jazz — and to making this extraordinary musical language accessible to learners of all ages.

Through speech, movement, singing, body percussion, improvisation and instruments, participants will explore practical ways into rhythm, improvisation and jazz that are playful, musical and achievable.

And you don't need to be a jazz musician to take part!

Whether you're an experienced Orff practitioner, a classroom teacher, music specialist, instrumental teacher or simply curious about a more creative approach to music education, the weekend offers an opportunity to experience the work from the inside.

One participant at Doug's previous UK workshop summed it up beautifully. After recognising activities from his Intery Mintery book, they said:

“This makes so much sense now!”

Sometimes experiencing the music is what makes everything fall into place.

Join us in London this October for one day or the whole weekend.
