Five Inspiring Days of Music, Movement, Creativity and Community 

Join us from 26–30 July 2027 at the beautiful Liverpool Hope University campus for Orff UK's flagship annual event.

Led by internationally respected practitioners Andrea Sangiorgio, Nadja Kraft and Mona Manoochehri, Summer School offers five inspiring days of practical workshops exploring music, movement, improvisation, composition and creative teaching through the philosophy of Orff Schulwerk.

Whether you're discovering Orff Schulwerk for the first time or returning as a familiar face, Summer School is a chance to learn, create, collaborate and reconnect with your own creativity alongside educators from across the UK and beyond.

Available Course Files

Professor Andrea Sangiorgio is one of Europe's leading voices in Elemental Music Education. He is Professor of Elemental Music Education at the University of Music and Theatre Munich and has led teacher training courses and workshops in more than 20 countries. Andrea trained at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, holds a PhD in Education from the University of Exeter, and has written extensively on creativity, improvisation and the integration of Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory with the Orff approach.

Andrea's workshops are renowned for combining creativity with a beautifully structured teaching process. Drawing on both Orff Schulwerk and Gordon's Music Learning Theory, he demonstrates how musical understanding can develop naturally through movement, singing, improvisation and purposeful musical experiences. Participants leave not only inspired, but with a clear understanding of how and why each activity supports children's musical development.

Originally from Austria, Nadja Kraft completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elemental Music and Dance Pedagogy at the Orff Institute in Salzburg before continuing her studies in Early Childhood Music Education at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

Since moving to the UK in 2009, Nadja has worked extensively in primary schools, early years settings and music services. Alongside teaching curriculum music, piano and children's choirs, she is Lead Teacher for the Music's Cool programme at Harrow Music Service, part of the London West Music Hub.

Nadja brings together authentic Orff training with many years of practical classroom experience in UK schools. Her workshops are packed with creative, tried-and-tested ideas that work with real classes, real teachers and real classroom challenges. Whether working with large groups, limited resources or children with additional needs, she demonstrates practical strategies that are immediately transferable. Inclusion is woven naturally throughout everything she teaches, making her sessions especially valuable for today's classroom practitioners.



Mona Manoochehri is a singer and music educator based in Munich, Germany. She studied Elementary Music and Voice Pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich before completing a Master's degree in Music and Dance Education at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where her research focused on children's voices and vocal development.

A member of the Iranian Orff-Schulwerk Association, Mona works with children, teachers and music educators through singing, movement and creative music-making. Alongside her educational work, she also leads community singing groups for adults with no previous musical experience.

At Summer School, Mona will lead inspiring vocal sessions rooted firmly in Orff pedagogy. Rather than treating singing as a standalone activity, she explores how the voice can become a playful, expressive and creative musical instrument through movement, improvisation and ensemble music-making. Her workshops celebrate the belief that singing belongs to everyone, regardless of experience or confidence.
